Manuel Borba  Pinnacles FC Head Coach

Sometimes you meet someone and you can tell right away which sport they play.  Manuel is one of those people. Soccer is in his blood.  He has been part of the soccer scene in Penticton for more than 40 years.

He played soccer with two clubs in Penticton, the Portuguese Sporting Club, and the Penticton Soccer Club Pinnacles.  He is one of three founding members of the Penticton Portuguese Club (Luso Canadian Multicultural) whose soccer team traveled to tournaments as far as California and completed a five-week soccer tour of Portugal in the 1980s.   In 1997, Manuel was honored to be named the team captain of the Tim Horton Pinnacles for their inaugural season in the Pacific Coast Soccer League (PCSL).

Manuel stopped playing in 1999 and has since been concentrating on coaching. He has traveled extensively to learn from many high-level coaches in many different areas and countries.   Since retiring from the City of Penticton Parks department in 2019, he has been able to devote even more time to PFC player development as well as the PFC Junior Coaches Mentorship program.

In addition to being the Head coach for Pinnacles FC, he is also the Head Coach of the PCSL Tim Horton Pinnacles.  Manuel has recently been appointed to the PCSL (Pacific Coast Soccer League) board of directors.  He is very proud to be the first board member from the Interior in the history of this league that was established in 1908.
